Engagement Photos at a swanky, hip Downtown Providence bar


When Victoria contacted me about an engagement session, she sent along a set of inspiration photos that well... inspired me! The vintage-ish style and vibe was a bit outside of my comfort zone - but I jumped at the chance to give my creative mind a little workout. The one thing I knew was that we were going to approach this session with a fully candid, cinematic, story-telling goal, and that we were going to focus on capturing real emotions. In our phone consultation, Victoria told me that, as a couple, they were not particularly comfortable in front of the camera and that they might be a little awkward. For me, that's actually perfect. I reassured her that we would play and have fun... and we definitely did!

Our first stop was the fabulous Marcelino's Boutique Bar. It's a very sexy, swanky, lush space that set the mood for our shoot. (many thanks for allowing us to use their gorgeous space before they opened for the evening!) As an aside, if you haven't been to Marcelino's... just go. Fabulous cocktails, mezze plates, and such a cool, relaxed vibe. After cocktails - we headed down to the streets around Providence City Hall. The light was fading, but we had just enough time to make some magic.
