I'm Linda

Photography is my passion

Capturing authentic emotion is the cornerstone of my work. Photographs need to make us feel something - either about the subject or about ourselves. Does a portrait give you a sense of who that person is? Does a menu photo make your mouth water? Does a photo of a product inspire you to make a purchase?

I understand human emotion. That's why I'm a photgrapher.

Setting Expectations for Your Photo Session - The Process

THE FIRST STEP...

We hop on a phone call to talk about the details and to put together a plan for your photo session. These calls are usually 10-15 minutes. We'll chat about the nuts and bolts - the who, what, when, where - but more importantly, we will talk about what we can do to create your dream photos. We'll get a little creative, I'll make some suggestions, and many times, I'll invite you to create and share a Pinterest board or inspiration images with me. The goal of our phone call is to create a plan together that will result in gorgeous photos that you will treasure. Of course, we'll also make sure the timing and budget fits, we will select your date, and then go over payment details.

A FEW DAYS BEFORE YOUR PHOTO SHOOT

I'll check in with you, usually via text, a few days before your scheduled shoot to confirm timing and location, note any potential weather issues and possible solutions, and see if you have any questions or last-minutes needs/requests. If needed, I'm happy to jump on a quick phone call so that you can head into your photo session comfortable and full of confidence. If we are working in my studio, I'll send you a few additional details about parking and meeting my gorgeous pup. :)

THE DAY OF YOUR PHOTO SESSION

Your number one job is to relax and arrive at your photo session as low stress as possible! I totally understand that's kind of a big ask, but I promise you that it will make a world of difference. I'm generally a pretty easy going person, and definitely will seek to lower any anxiety or stress. One way I do that, is I'll arrive at our meeting location (if outside my studio) a bit early to scope things out and take some test shots. I'm a "get there early" kind of gal - and often times will text you with my exact location, with a parking suggestion, or some other helpful tidbit about your arrival.

Once we're all together, we'll spend a few minutes going over some simple posing guidelines for everyone in the shoot. I'll meet any four-legged friends that are joining us (yes to all the dogs!) and find ways to lower "stranger-danger" vibes with any kiddos. (I'm a mom, I remember those days!)

DURING THE PHOTO SHOOT

Unless our plan is for something very specific (like in an office for headshots), we are going to laugh, and play, and move around a lot. In reality, even in an office headshot session, we're still going to laugh and play a bit. The whole goal is to create images that have real emotion in them. My joy in photography comes when I capture moments that make me feel something. Sometimes that's a candid moment when you took a second to fix your child's hair, or when you laughed at yourself trying to look "model-ly," or a posed moment when I ask you to look back over your shoulder at me. We are always creating moments, and my job is to capture the very best, most beautiful, most story-filled ones. <3
